For Use With Wood Pellet Grills

Wood pellet fired grills are gaining popularity, which is why Louisiana Grills endeavours to lead the field by not only manufacturing a top quality product but to also provide the consumer with the fuel for the appliance. BACKWOODS barbecue pellets are ideal for your Louisiana Grill. Follow the manufacturer directions in the product manual for the use of wood pellets.

For Use With Gas or Electrical Grill

BBQ PelletsMost gas barbecues emply lava rock to distribute the heat within the grill. When the lava rock has become hot, simply scatter a cup or more of pellets over the rocks. Another technique is to place the wood pellets in a shallow pan or heavy-duty foil and place over the rocks, then close the cover.

Some of the newer grills employ ceramic-coated heat distribution plates rather than lava rock. These plates provide an ideal bed for the wood pellets. Add a cup or more directly to the plate, then close the cover.

With both lava rock and plates there may be a tendency for the pellets to flame up. Some users find this beneficial, especially in searing. However, if more smoking is desired, it is recommended that a cupful or more of pellets be placed in aluminum foil or a shallow pan and sealed. Puncture the foil with a toothpick to allow the smoke to escape.

For Use With Charcoal Grills

After the coals have become red hot and covered with white ash, add a cup or more of pellets. If you wish to sear your meat to seal in the juices, wait for the wood pellets to ignite, then add your meat and sear all sides. This gives a delicious crust. Fish treated this way becomes 'heavenly' delicious. Close the cover and continue cooking as the flame from the pellets extinguishes and they produce the desired smoke flavor.

BONUS: Another benefit in having LOUISIANA GRILLS barbeque pellets is that they can be added to the charcoal to obtain additional heat if the charcoal is starting to burn out or a more smoky flavor is desired. Simply open the cover and add more pellets as needed.

For Use With Smokers

LOUISIANA GRILLS BBQ pellets, being densified, require less attention than the use of sawdust. The smoke much longer for the same volume and won't contaminate your fish or meat with fly ash or dust.

BONUS: If you are a serious smoker, you will find thatLOUISIANA GRILLS barbecue pellets are more economical.
